PRP and the O Shot

Are you looking for a non-surgical way to tackle stress incontinence? Platelet-rich-plasma technology (PRP) offers a completely natural, drugfree treatment to help regain confidence.

Using your own healing proteins, PRP restores urinary function and rejuvenates vaginal health.

PRP harnesses the power of the patient’s body to plump and revive tissue around the opening of the urethra, stimulating the body to build natural support – no mesh required.

PRP can also give your sex life a boost, by revitalising the clitoris – this technique is known as the O-Shot, or Orgasm Shot®.

What is Platelet rich plasma?

Platelet rich plasma is the portion of our blood that contains all the growth factors that help us heal ourselves. It is said to stimulate stem cells, collagen production, and blood vessels.

PRP can be used as a treatment on its own, or in conjunction with laser or radiofrequency treatments.

Blood plasma in medicine has a long history of tried and tested use, including healing injuries in athletes, aiding in recovery from surgery, restoring hair loss, and, in the case of The Vampire Facelift, to plump and renew the skin.

How is PRP administered?

A small sample of the patient’s blood is taken and put into a centrifuge, where it’s spun to separate the red blood cells from the platelet plasma.

Using the centrifuge, the rich plasma is isolated and harvested to aid in healing.

The aim is that the PRP will create new blood vessels and new nerves. When treating women for stress incontinence, these higher concentrations of platelet-rich plasma, containing these growth and healing factors are then injected with a very fine needle into the vaginal wall, which helps the body form a natural support system. To improve sexual pleasure, the clitoris, labia, and G-spot can be treated too.

Does PRP work for stress incontinence and improved sexual satisfaction?

Many women who have tried PRP for stress incontinence say the problem has resolved after just one treatment. Pilot studies have also revealed that most women are very happy with treatment – the latest one has discovered that injections of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), blood doubled sexual satisfaction rates. [Turkish Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology].

What to expect

After small sample of blood taken, the blood has been processed in the centrifuge. A local anaesthetic will be injected in the specific part of your vulva/ vagina – such as your clitoris or G-Spot. The platelets will then be injected. X treatments are usually required.

Does it hurt?

Most women say no, especially when compared with other treatments, such as Botox. The most people feel is a brief sharpness. The process takes about 40 minutes. The area treated will feel sensitive for a day or so, but after the treatment you should feel fine to go about your usual activities.
